Lumpia Lane makes the most delicious spring rolls in town. The Lee family who owns Lumpia Lane is busy serving the orders, everyone except Berta. She’d rather enjoy the games in her gadget than learn their family business. Then, Angkong—Berta’s grandfather—tells her a family story about Imperial Lumpia. Will it change her mind?
Lumpia Lane is a picture book written in English and translated in Filipino. It is a heartwarming story of family, Chinese-Filipino (Chinoy) culture, and delicious food.
ALEXINE: I have cousins who are Chinoy and this story reminds me so much of how they were raised. They also had a Chinese restaurant and above it was their home. Everyone from their Angkong down to the youngest sibling was involved in the business. I'm sure this resonates with millions of other Chinoy families.
ADRIANA: I really liked this story, especially because it has food and festivities. I learned a lot about Chinoy culture.
