The ampalaya was once a plain and tasteless vegetable. He got so envious of the other bright-colored and yummy vegetables that he hatched an evil plan to take it all away from them. He was caught and punished by the Most Green, Most Fresh, Most Nutritious Court of Vegetables along with the fairies of the Sun, Earth, Water.
ALEXINE: I admit it, I don’t eat ampalaya! Maybe if I learned about this very interesting tale as a child, I would have learned to like it then? Maybe!
