Ninette De Las Peñas is a mathematician and full professor based in the Ateneo de Manila University. She received her BS, MS and PhD in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines. She is best known for her work in mathematical crystallography, color symmetry, hyperbolic geometry, tilings, group theory, and technology in mathematics education. She was elected member of the Commission on Mathematical and Theoretical Crystallography in 2014 where she was the lone woman and the only representative from Southeast Asia.
