Betong, a 7-year-old boy, was immensely proud of his own house built atop a majestic Palapat Tree. Perched high in the tree, his house enjoyed the serene breeze and fresh air, along with the best view of the sky's fluffy clouds—perfect for his daydreaming afternoons. Through the gaps in the bamboo-wooden floor of his treehouse, he could even peek down at a river flowing just beneath.
However, his happiness dimmed when he discovered unwanted visitors intruding into his house—neighbors also sheltered by the majestic Palapat Tree. They would steal his meals, disrupt his sleep, and startle him. Disheartened, Betong cried to his dad, expressing his desire not to live in his treehouse anymore. But his dad tried to show Betong the true nature of his neighbors.
Who were these neighbors that Betong had? Would Betong give up living in his house atop the Palapat Tree? Or would he learn to love his neighbors?
